The Federal Board for Middle and Secondary Education, commonly known as FBISE) is a Board of the Government of Pakistan responsible for reviewing middle and secondary education in Pakistan and abroad for the Pakistan International School. It is empowered with financial and administrative authority to organize, manage, regulate, develop and control middle and secondary education in general and to take examinations in the establishments which are affiliated with it.

The Federal Board for Middle and Secondary Education was established under the FBISE Act of 1975. It is an autonomous body under the Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
The SSC and HSSC 2020 annual reviews have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The result of the SSC 2020 annual exam was announced based on the candidate’s previous performance. The first three holders obtained respectively 1097, 1096, and 1095 points out of a total of 1100. These are the highest scores since the founding of FBISE in 1975.
