History of Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarship Program
On November 4, 2019, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched a program to provide need-based scholarships to deserving bright students across the country.
This is the largest need-based scholarship initiative in the history of Pakistan. Under the initiative, 50,000 deserving students will receive scholarships for the next four years.
While the federal government has set aside Rs 10 million. Over the next four years, ارب 24 billion has been earmarked for the Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarship Program, 50% of the total scholarships for girls, and 2% for students with various disabilities.
the aim
It aims to help undergraduate-level students who are unable to pursue university education due to limited financial resources after completing FA / FSC / Intermediate.
Unlike previous scholarship programs aimed at MS or Ph.D. The program, initiative aims to provide financial support to students in four- and five-year undergraduate programs.
Qualification criteria
Scholarships under the Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarship Program will be awarded to new entrants:
Family income is less than Rs. 45,000 per month.
Admission was on merit only. Merit here means that the student has met the admission criteria of the institution in which he wants to study.
Admitted to HEC accredited undergraduate degree programs.
Falling below the age limit prescribed by the institution’s rules, ie the maximum age for eligibility for a scholarship is equal to the maximum age for applying for admission to undergraduate programs in HEI.
Who can’t apply?
A student is ineligible if they are:
Benefit from another scholarship or continuous grant.
Enrolled in distance learning programs and affiliated colleges (both public/private).
Admitted to self-sustaining / self-support / self-financed, or high-fee evening programs.
How to apply
All applicants must apply through the HEC’s Ehsas Scholarship Portal after signing up. Applications sent to the HEC in any other way will not be considered.
Registering with the HEC portal is also quite a straightforward process. After clicking ‘Sign Up’, applicants are required to provide the following details.
CNIC / B-form / Passport Number
First and last name.
nationality
Password
mobile number
Email address
Once these details are entered, a one-time PIN (OTP) will be sent to the applicant’s email and mobile phone. Upon joining the OTP, the applicant will be registered with the Ehsas Scholarship Portal.
After signing up, applicants can proceed to fill out the application form.
How to complete the application.
Once signed up, applicants must log in to the Ehsas Scholarship Portal using their registered credentials.
After logging in, click ‘Apply Now’ to begin the process of filling out the application form for this year’s Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarship Program.
