- Hamadard University is one of the oldest research institutes of Pakistan. It was founded in 1991 by the long lasting struggles of Hakeem Said who was emphasizing on the establishment of a private research institute for the purpose of high class learning an educational promotion. The charter was received from Ghulam Ishaq Khan who was then president of Pakistan and thus the university formally started working on 9th October, 1991. The founder and the then chancellor of the university kept its name after his educational organization, The Hamdard Foundation. Hamdard University is the largest research University of Karachi and occupies a total area of 350 acres. Campuses of Hamdard University The university has 6 campuses in 3 different cities of Pakistan. There are three campuses in Karachi. The oldest campus of the university is at the Northern Bypass which is known as the Main Campus while the other two campuses are in the down town of the city which is known as City Campus I and City Campus II. There are two campuses in Islamabad City too. The first campus was established in the year 2000 while the second campus was established in 2012. The Faisalabad campus is the single campus in the city and offers Management Science and Information Technology related programs.
