As per the previous records, the total number of students enrolled in 1948-49 was 224 and the total number of teachers was 25. From 1951-52 this institute had co-education as there was no separate college for girls till then. Presently, a large number of old boys of this college are now serving the nation in senior administrative positions and other areas of nation-building activities. Commencement of postgraduate classes for M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Mathematics and Statistics (during 1991-1992). The college was taken over by the Government of Sindh on June 21, 1948. The college operates as an independent, non-political and non-profit body.
