The University worked in November 2002 on two-degree colleges in Karachi namely Federal Urdu Science College and Federal Urdu Arts College which was established in 1949 by Baba Urdu Dr. Abdul Haq. The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science, and Technology has emerged over the years as an inspiring center of higher education with highly trained faculty. FUUAST has the unique distinction of being the first university in Pakistan, which ultimately aims to use Urdu as the primary language of education and teaching. The University was established on November 13, 2002, under Ordinance No. CXIX2002 was issued by the President of Pakistan. Selection criteria for undergraduate programs.
- Passed 12 years of field related education, with at least second division from any registered institution.
- 50% marks in the entrance test.
