Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) was established as a private sector university to cater to the higher educational needs of Kohat and its neighboring district. Lieutenant General Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah founded the most prestigious and prestigious university in 2001.
The University is also authorized to affiliate and collaborate with other academic and research institutions. Kohat University has been approved and sanctioned by some of Pakistan’s largest accrediting organizations to run a wide range of examinations, award degrees, and academic degree programs. Therefore, Kohat University of Science and Technology has a list of renowned and highly reputed institutions and colleges. The institute conducts educational and research programs not only in science and technology but also in various other fields.

The university was established with only four major institutions/departments: the Institute of Information Technology, the Institute of Management Sciences, the Institute of Education and Research, and the Department of Microbiology. As of 2004, all four institutions offer only 4-year B.Sc. Degree program and 2-year master’s level program. However, the university expanded itself to offer a wider educational program and cater to a larger number of students.
Departments of Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Microbiology were set up to offer BS (Hons), M.Sc., M. Phil. And Ph.D. The degree program university which started with only a few students in its first batch now has a total of 6000 students enrolled in 4000 students an undergraduate program, about 1000 in 1000 postgraduate programs,s and about 60 in 60 doctoral programs.

Candidates who want to get admission to this university and are waiting for the results of the NTS entrance test and merit list. It is being informed that the first merit list is posted 15 days after the date of the test in the concerned department or faculty. In addition, the waiting list (second and third waiting lists) appears 10 days after each previous list. Candidates who have passed the merit are eligible for admission.
