Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Medical College is a public sector institution located in Mirpur Azad. The foundation stone of the college was laid in 2010 by the then President of Pakistan, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari. MBBS College is part of a chain of medical colleges that emerged after the catastrophic earthquake of 2005. The first batch of colleges was introduced in 2012. The history of the creation of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Institute dates back to 1976 when the late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto announced its opening in Mirpur.

The Institute’s MBBS degree is recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Board (PM&DC), a regulatory body for medical institutions. MBBS College degree is offered in association with Azad Jammu and Kashmir University (AJKU). The Institute has many affiliations and identities.
To enter the college, students have to appear for the entrance test conducted by the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The State Entrance Test is conducted every year for the admission of students in all public and private medical institutions of the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. - The application form should be completed in full and submitted to the said colleges. The application form should be accompanied by the processing fee and required documents. The test center should also be selected by the candidate in the application form. Sample entrance exams are available at the colleges and UHS sites.
To be admitted to the institute, the candidate has to pass 12th class examinations with a pre-medical group or subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Foreign students are required to provide a certificate of equality issued by the Inter-Board Chairman’s Committee.
Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Medical College MBBSMC Mirpur Azad Kashmir is one of the three medical colleges of Azad Kashmir located in Mirpur Azad Kashmir. It is a government-funded medical college and selection is based on merit. The college has been recognized by PMDC for 100 admissions. The college is known for its highest aggregation among other medical colleges of AJ&K. A university is planned in the near future. The college faculty is full of experienced teachers.
