BISE Sargodha was divided from BISE Rawalpindi in 1978 and again separated from Faisalabad Board in 1988. The Board is responsible for the annual Matriculation and Intermediate examinations for regular and private students. Established in 1968, the Sargodha Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education is one of the leading educational boards in Punjab. Many public and private educational institutions of the Sargodha division are affiliated with this board. The Board ensures the commencement of annual examinations and announces the results of Class X as per the schedule provided.
BISE Sargodha Board started functioning in 1968. Since then, the BISE Board has been arranging matriculation and entrance papers for students. The board later began working on its building, but it was previously in a rented area. BISE Sargodha and BISE Rawalpindi initially wanted to merge the board, but later started working separately. There are nine education boards in Punjab province.
After the separation, both boards got their own identities. Khushab, Bhakkar, Mianwali, and Sargodha are the areas under the Board and all the educational institutions are affiliated to BISE Sargodha. Secondary and higher secondary education level is being covered by the district board. Both private and regular candidates are attached to the Board for Matriculation and Inter Level examinations.
